The Republicans and their Moronic Ideas and the Dems. who support them....

Sounds like a catchy movie title, huh? Unfortunately, it isn't. It's our government. Recently, a new "economic stimulus" package was announced. This is partially necessary due to greedy lenders and their "brilliant" sub-prime lending scheme (and yes, it WAS a scheme....like it or not) which is now seeing good, hardworking investors loose money and families loosing their homes! With recent quarterly findings from some of the major brokers - the picture is bleak and that "r" word has begun to float around again! So, our GOP - known for their wonderfully biased, anti-lower middle class dealings - concocted this economic stimulus idea. The long and short is that anyone currently paying taxes will recieve a check (in addition to our normal tax refunds) in the amount of $300 - $1600 with the hopes that people will go out and BUY! Gotta love the morality of it all....GREAT! Says a lot of people...free money - sure I'll spend it, no complaints here....BUT WAIT! This is NOT free money first of all, this is YOUR tax money that the government is giving you to spend - how kind. That is akin to me taking something from your home, wrapping it up and giving it to you as a gift. Secondly, remember, Republicans (and ecspecially this ass monkey we call Mr President now) is vested in big business and those who are of the upper eschelon. Count on them getting those bigger checks hecause, after all, it makes perfect sense that my father, for example (making a decent six figure income) is in much more need than us who make five figure incomes and actually NEED the money! And...I didn't even make that example up - he did! YAY Dad! By the way, Mama Witch's Dad is a die hard Dem. - you diss Hillary in his prescence - too bad for you! And the third thing that is so genious about this plan - it comes at the cost of medicade, food stamps, Social Security and other programs that families depend upon to survive - the poor, the elderly.....Thanks, Nancy Pelosi, I'm sure your CA constituents think that was a great bargain - a one time $300 check or an increase in their monthly food allotment, you made the wrong damn choice! And she was considering running for senator here at one point? HA! Now, granted, Hillary has not done a TON for our neck of the woods BUT she has done well for our education system and healthcare (still in need of some work but, better off than we were just a few years back) in NYS so props to that! At least I have the comfort of knowing that my daughter's IEP educational needs WILL be met and that SSI check WILL come and her Medicade WILL pay for her life saving treatments - something a $300 check could not accomplish! As an aside, I encourage all of you - educate yourself, know the candidates running for office, formualte questions that you want answered and research (based on public records of how they have voted in the past) the answers you are likely to recieve - not the "politcal jargon" floating around now...I am a registered Independent and have not made up my mind as to who my vote will belong to - BUT be sure I will let all of you know know when I do :) And yes, Dad, I know...if I don't vote for Hillary you aren't speaking to me anymore -LOL Myspace Graphics
