Something GOOD :) Something Bad :(
For those of you following AMSM on VH1 (and can peel your eyes away from Andre and his amazing body for just a second - I know it's so tough...damn the boy is fine) what do you think of the B.S. that IS Mary Alice and cutting Pickle?????? I was P.O'd!!! I am putting a Sicilian curse on VJ (too much Sophia Petrillo, I guess - TeeHee) - he will never beat the Russian. SOVIET!
Ok, now something good - I have found the most amazing gift for Wee Witch and cannot wait until Yule to give it to her - it is a small Penticle!!! I am so excited and I know she will be - it's amazing how her concept of Wicca has grown by leaps and bounds! I can't wait :)
OK signing off for tonight.....

Mama - What religion are you?
Wee - A Witch
Mama - What does that mean?
Wee - Some are good and some are bad but we are good ones
Mama Witch - What is Church?
Wee - A house of seats and microphones (previous answers: caves, where dogs live, castles)
Mama - Who is Buddah?
Wee - A statue
Mama - Was he ever real?
Wee - Yes but he was killed into a statue
Mama- Who is Jesus?
Wee - He is nice to everyone
Mama - How old are you?
Wee - 7
Mama - Do you think everybody should be nice to each other?
Wee - You should be nice but you can punch people sometimes
Mama - Where do babies come from?
Wee - Mama's bellies
Mama - How do they get in the belly?
Wee - Mom's put them in there
Mama - What do you do if someone is mean to you?
Wee - Walk away and say I on't want to talk to you but, cut them in line at lunch so you get your food first
Mama - Thanks for your time
Wee - FINALLY!

Wee - C'mon Mom (stalks off...)

A Papa Witch EXCLUSIVE: Androgynous Dressing (as told to Mama Witch)
You know...my mom was telling me a story a few weeks ago about how her family used to go shopping once a week at a plaza that had a grocery store, a five and dime (and no, I don't mean marijuana - 5 and 10 CENT ITEMS!), a few other shops and a women's boutique that specialized in selling those little "boxy" type hats women used to wear to Church along with costume jewelery, blouses, skirts, etc...A women's boutique in every sense! It seems like such a foreign concept nowadays with stores like Aeropostale, Hollister, Pac Sun, and others. When Papa Witch walks into these stores, he genuinely doesn't know which way to go - I mean, on the left there ARE yellow and pink shirts so that must be for the girls right? So...why are they next to men's cologne and ties? Ohhh, there are some darker color tops, ok, this is it - next to denim mini skirts? What the hell? This genuinely confuses my dear Papa Witch. You see, he is Old Skool - when men dressed like - "kick your ass" men so this yellow sweater and paisley undershirt w/ oatmeal colored dress pants is as foreign to him as eyebrow tweasers. And a man wear pink? Well, Papa Witch just can't grasp! Another thing is that every store has a "signature scent" - Hollister is the freakin WORST! We honestly thought it was bug spray - like an outdoor, ambiance sorta thing - that cost a trillion dollars a bottle! So, I asked Papa Witch were he would shop... he contendly replied that he was happy with his MALE bargain finds, Casual Male every 2 years or so, and T's from AJ Wright from the MENS DEPARTMENT! Ok - I got the hint. And as far as perfume/cologne for all? That is the thing of Papa Witch nightmares! So, that's about it from this very exclusive report from our loved Papa Witch. He is ALL MAN!
By the way...as an aside, if you ever looking for a good movie, Mama and Papa Witch recommend Riot (1997) - 5 stars and very thought provoking! OK, dinner time.......Bright Blessings :)

Black Friday - Cool Name, Miserable Gimmick!
So, today was Black Friday.....the day where insane people line up at the doors of Walmart and Target at 3am for their $40 portable DVD players and $10 Espresso makers, etc...I absolutely LOVE to watch the madness on news shows! I laugh until tears are pouring out of my eyes at the fools scooping this crap up like it may contain their Golden Ticket (Willie Wonka Factory reference) to unending fame and fortune. And then there are always the poor sad souls who didn't get THEIR Espresso maker so they blast and curse the wretched fools who did - ah, craziness. When are people going to wake up and smell their Starbucks and realize - HELLO?!?!?! It's all a gimmick! "Yeah, I'll lure you in with promises of glistening electronics (well, for the first 20 people in the door anyway) and when we run out, you can soak up all of the festive spirit and buy other things - and buy.... and buy.... and buy...mwahahahahah" says the man with the Armani suit sitting in his posh office worth more mony than the Witch family will see in this Incarnation. That is the basis and the very foundation of these corporate giants - lure them in and then get them to spend - on EVERYTHING! Everything from buy 4 get 1 free bottles of shampoo to $1 items galore to decorations that will make your house "unique" and "Martha Stewart-sh" and surely the envy of the block. Guys and Dolls, why do you fall for it? Why do you feed these corporate beasts as they destroy our small shops and sense of community and beautiful landscape? Let "Black Friday" be the day you mourn for the jeans that you can't wear for a few days because you ate too much the night before, stay home, and do something enjoyable...walk outside, play with your kids, spend time with family....stop feeding the corporate monsters!!! Don't "buy" their gimmick! You know, I just talked to a friend of mine, Sandy, who owns a New Age shop down town. She says her sales catalogoues are FULL of tips on "how to get people to spend more w/product placement, lighting, etc."...her and I scoffed at the ridiculousness of this - she said that she wants people to come to her store, look, enjoy and buy only what calls to them - not just buy because it was on a shelf next the register and oh, what the hell it's only $2.....that's 2 loaves of bread at Save a Lot! I really admire Sandy - she maintains the values of the American consumer/supplier relationship! L'Chaim Sandy - I love ya! OK, time for Mama and Papa to go spend time....YAY! Pap Witch is the best, he brought home some treats for his girls tonight - I love that Man!!!!

A fireside chat with Mama Witch - If the Prez can have 'em then so can I!
First of all, I am so crazy stufed full of amazing food right now (dinner w/Mama Witches inlaws) that you'll have to excuse me if I doze off during this post -HeeHee! The diet starts tommorow...well...no it doesn't really but I'll tell myself that anyway. Hope you all had a great day. So, onto my fireside chat...This topic is near and dear to me and it honestly shocks even myself that I have yet to mention it so hear goes. In this day and age of internet, talk shows, "drive thru psychologists", more self help books published then I could build a medieval fortress with - people have a hard time with a very basic element, their own identities. We have all of the "newfangeled" mechanisms coupled with the omnipresent "helpful advice" of others and we feel like our head is spining with thoughts of "who am I?" "what am I?" "what do I believe?" " what's on Court TV?" You know, the answer is really very simple to come by. Here is an excersize published by a noted psychologist which I believe to be brilliant! Take a plain old notebook...On the first page write the name of an important person or entity (internet, talk show host, etc..) that you feel has contributed to your mixed thoughts...we'll say for instance "Dr. Phil". Then write what you have heard on his show or read in one of his books that you question about yourself (about your appearence, parenting, etc..), then on the next page, conteract that with what you feel...Let's say for example Dr. Phil says "All children should be raised the "XYZ" way" (obviously made up), on page 2 you could write " So long as the child's needs are met and the child is safe and loved, who THE FUCK cares what anyone else thinks".....Do this until you feel you have sufficiently filled the book! Close it. Mine took me hours to compile so do this when you REALLY have time to devote to the excersize. Then, reopen the book and read aloud the things that discourage and hold you down, Ask the Mother to release their hold over you and rip the page out of the notebook. Then crumple it good and tight (or use another binding method) and burn it in a FIRE SAFE conainer (I use my cauldron but you can use anything that is flame retartdent) - then read allowed YOUR affirmation (DO NOT tear this out!)...ask the Mother to help you to be strong in adversity and let go of slights - remember your Mission in this Incarnation is to Learn and Grow which means adversity so there is NO getting around it, just acceptance of it! Do this until you have a notebook or "blueprint" of YOU! Read it as often as needed, within a Formal circle or not, to the Mother or in your heart, through song and dance or at your altar...whatever will help these affirmations to take hold inside your Soul! You see, we are what we are, we have that luxury and that duty as Created in our Charts long before we were incarnated! It's ok if other's disagree with YOU and are even verbal about that - don't discredit another person's opinion because you CAN learn things and MUST remain open but don't EVER let it impede the essence of you! You are unique, you are special and NEVR LET ANOTHER PERSONS CHART AND SOUL OPPRESS YOURS! Respect and Love - but never, ever give up YOU! With Love and Blessings to those who love and respect us and those who do not......May the Blessings of the Mother be yours.....

Another "hurdle" to jump.......But what else should we expect?
So, we get a letter in the mail from none other than the dependable Social Security branch of the govenment explaining that we are no longer eligible for our monthly payments! WHAT?!?!?! That is the money we use for the care of our Wee Witch! Soo.....Papa Witch goes down to their local "newly remodeled, convienient branch" to try and explain to "new, well trained courteous staff" (HA - I have hemmoroids that are friendlier than these jerk offs) that there is an obvious miscalculation as we certainly do not make the additional $1,000/mo. that would cause our payments to cease....He goes armed with all necessary paperwork and and waits to speak to an SSI caseworker who he is told will be with him shortly....AN HOUR AND A HALF LATER (and being late to work!) he is informed that our worker won't be in until tommorow and since they are still in the process of setting things up, our payment may be delayed anyway - Soooo, again, Papa Witch returns and is informed that while our worker isn't in (is government work optional?) we could meet with an SSI secretary - whatever, better than nothing! Well, NATURALLY due to this "more convienient move" and "friendlier, more knowledgeable staff" this dipshit knows NOTHING but didn't figure out that her stupid ass brain doesn't work until Papa Witch missed our Parent/ Teacher conference at school (I am home w/ a "still recouping" Wee Witch) and again had to leave in a mad dash to work. So, our caseworker will DEFINITELY be in tommorow - we'll have to see what can be done then - never a dull moment here.
Oh, and as an aside...you CAN eat Poprocks and drink soda I did about an hour ago and you just get wicked gassy - but that is always fun :)

Myspace and YouTube - I MUST opine....
On Monday, I watched a very upsetting story about a young girl who, at 16, had obtained the funds and "know how" to purchase a passport and plane ticket to leave her home here in the US to Pakistan, and the home of the "man of her dreams", Abdullah. Being that Pakistan is currently considered a "hostile territory", it was no easy take to retun her to the US. However, at 18 she has left for Pakistan and to Mr. Al Wonderful yet again and NOW there is nothing anyone can do to compell her to return. And, if she is in danger, there is little to protect her. Then today I hear the very sad story of Megan Meier - a 13 year old who had fallen for her "Prince Charming" and carried on a "dream-like, fairytale computer romance" for almost a year - until Prince Charming went the other way and Megan, sadly commited suicide. The clincher? there was not even a "Prince Charming" - it was the neighbors down the street playing a MEAN joke the whole FRIGGIN time! What do these 2 awful stories have in common? Their genesis: Myspace, the megalopoluos that connects the average "joe" or "jane" to other average "joes" or "janes" or, if your lucky, famous people! With all kinds of fun surveys, glittery graphics, fun chatting, and the possibility of reinventing yourself (i.e.selling yourself to the masses) - the possibilities are endless - unfortunately! Now, in the spirit of fairness, I,do have a Myspace page as does Papa Witch. The difference between us Witches and these young victims? WE ARE ADULTS! We make choices on who to and not to consort with, we make the rules, and we know what's right and what is flying off it's rocker. A minor (any person who is not yet age 18) does NOT have such faculties - no matter how mature they may seem.....Their brains are still growing and their esteem is very vulnerable - most teens can be convinced of ANYTHING! Plus, they do not have the benefit and wisdom of life experience to guide them in the right direction! It's not their fault - they do not have the "brain power" yet....It's akin to sending my Wee Witch into Walmart with an empty shopping cart and a blank check in the toy aisles while I "monitor" from the book section a few paces away. Can she differentiate the difference between wise spending and impulse "Gimmies"??? NO - she's 7!!! Every toy in reach is a "must have"! I cannot imagine her sweet little mind thinking "well, I have so many Bratz already but fewer V-Tech educational toys so maybe I should look at those and play-doh is just to messy to buy in bulk....." HA! ADULTS MUST SET LIMITS AND BE ON THEIR MINOR CHARGES LIKE WHITE ON RICE! I don't care if it's parent/child, grandparent/grandchild, older sibling/younger sibling, etc....The adults must set limits. NO Myspace for children under 18 - if they want to talk, I'm sure they have a cell phone...If they must be on a computer, that's fine - WITH ADULT SUPERVISION RIGHT NEXT TO THEM - not on the easy chair watching the game!!! It's not Myspace's or any other sites' responsibility to watch YOUR child! Be nosy, pry, it's not your right it is your OBLIGATION! And for those of you who think it is so adorable to "little poopsie" on YouTube with her little pink dress on and little rosy cheeks doing "booty dances" - what the hell is wrong with you???? Where do you think child porn is bought and sold WORLDWIDE?!?!?!?! From people who makes these scumbags job so easy! ADULTS (yes, you, the over 18 one) WATCH YOUR youngins' actions - no Myspace, no FaceBook, No AIM or Yahoo 360, or MSN Profiles - they are children - what do they have to composite in a profile? And no more YouTube videos that are going to end up sold at a market in Singapore featuring your adorable little 4 year old pop-n-locking to some PERVERT! Take responsibility for your Wee ones!!! Just as Marilyn Manson did not compel the Columbine shootings of 1999, Myspace does not compel these henious acts to occur -irresponsible guardianship DOES!

Nothing Exciting.....
So, Mama Witch had her apt. w/ the shrink on Friday which is always a really creepy experience. You know that you are being "judged" the moment you walk into the room....every step, every gesturte signifies repression, anxiety, pscychopathic tendencies or worse! Now don't get me wrong, I have a great shrink and I think he really is probably a really nice person BUT, the man is pill crazy! I swear, if I had a bloody nose the guy would write a script for it. Anyway so, of course, a few choice comments and I am now on an additional med.! It pisses me off -this whole anti-depressant/anti-anxiety drug market has to be some kind of left over facist ploy.....Oh well.
Other than that, Papa Witch is leaving for work shortly and I have to get some things done. Wee Witch is off for the week so I'll have to come up with some activities. Today is too cold to walk anywhere so "home day" it 'tis! Can't wait til Thursday, though!!!!! TURKEY DAY!!!!
Ok well, that's about it....Also, please check out my myspace page www.myspace.com/jennspeacepalace and watch the YouTube video I added - very interesting begining Wicca info. for anyone who is interested.
Blessings for the weekend!

My Mother in Law pic!
A few have requested a pic of my MIL as it makes visualization easier when prayers are said or during healing meditations.....Yes, that is my mother in law in the middle of my brother in law, Mike, on the left and Papa Witch on the right. Her hair is a little shorter now but she is as glowing and beautiful as ever! Keep those prayers and vibes comming!
A Journey of 13 Months Begins with One Step....
With the passing of the New Moon...I have completed my vigil and Dedication and look forward to dedicating this months (moons) work to Prayer, Journaling, and Creativity as instructed by my Grove Mother. The focus of this months work is to look "outside the box" and to look past "our rote routines" ....this is going to be a challendge for me but, I am ready for it! I look forward to taking the time and effort to consiously commune and change the way I carry about the tasks and events of my life. In fact, during my lesson I thought of my first "experience"....
I have always looked at the cluter and stuff all over the place as "messy, not-perfect, un kept", etc....I know look at each strategically placed statue or symbol as a mecca of spirituality, each tou on the floor the pleasurable play of Wee Witch, the collection of ESPN magazines EVERYWHERE an example of Papa Witche's hobby and passion - this house isn't messy or cluttered; it's a picture of a family life lived in the setting of a peaceful, fun, loving, blessed home! Who wants to change that? Sure a little tidying is always a good thing and a necessity BUT, I must not forget to enjoy the beauty and blessings within the clutter :)
I am on my way, 1 month and 12 more to enjoy!

Dinner w/the Family Last Night
Yesterday we had dinner (for my brother in law, Mike's bday) - it was all of my in laws and we had a good time. You see, Papa Witch comes from a tough stock. You can clearly see that Jim's grandmother is not feeling well and yet there is a dinner spread that could feed 20 people, my mother in law (in the throes of her own battle w/cancer) is fun and friendly and gives no indication of the hurt she is feeling. It is so inspiring to see so many strong women - it reminds us ALL of what we are capable of when we are willing to "never surrender" - L'Chaim! It was a fun night as always. Unfortunately, Jim's sister has surgery on 11/30 and she must stay overnight at Childrens...but at least this will end her gallbladder woes. All in all it was a fun night - as always, Gizmo keeps us laughing :)
After we got home we watched Cat in the Hat w/Mike Meyers and then it was time for Wee Witch to go to bed.
Back to cleaning - IT NEVER ENDS.....But, Wee Witch did help today so I can't complain too much :)
Blessings, Jenn
Bad DOG! Mama and PapaWitch opine on the famed bounty hunter
I truly did not know how I felt about this very public, God-promoting, "smack my bitch up", publicity lovin', person...Duane "Dog" Chapman. When we first met Dog (not as an actual show character in and of itself but a portion of another show about bail jumping) - he certainly was selling a completely differnt bag of goods. Dressed respectably, non Bible-thumping, no "My Brother" and "brah", just a quick easy take down for the thug and a ride to the jail was all Dof had to offer. Then comes the accalimed A&E series DOG: The Bounty Hunter working from his own company, Da Kine, based in Hawaii. It was interesting but had definitely recieved a "facelift" - Dog had traded in his plain shirt and regular old Levi's for an open leather vest, healed steel toe boots, a mullet the likes of Bill Idol, and in insane need to have everyone be his "brah, "his brother" or something to that effect....Partner and spouse Beth traded in her over sized t's and plain pants for hoochie clothes - her boobies were as gingormous as ever, though. It was good initially but the redundency did it in and the "all too perfect" captures on EVERY episode left some legitimacy questions....I think the only "fans" left are there because they are family of the Dog or are "ooglers".......of a cast mnember; namely, son Leland. In any event, on and on it goes.....
THEN came "the call" between Tucker and the Dog in which the "N-bomb" was thrown around more than a ball at an NBA game - it was disgusting - and I am sure mentioned NOWHERE in Dog's beloved Bible. I didn't know what to think at first. Yes, I am not a HUGE Dog fan but, the man HAS done some good, he is a role model to many, WHY would he say and do such a thing???? Sure enough - the release of this recorded call between Tucker (Dog's zillionth son and Dog) reguarding Tucker's African American girlfriend) was followed by a SLEW of apologies by Dog - On Larry King Live, on Anderson Cooper, on Hanity and Colmes - basically anyone who would give him a forum.
Mama Witch saw this as an honest attempt at redemption and was begining to actually feel sorry for the Dog - let's face it...we all get angry and make mistakes and say things we don't mean. I'm a second chance gal! So imagine my thrill when I see that Dr. Phil opens his show to Dog and Dog's Minister to sit down with 3 of the most influential people in African American society....Rev. Al Sharpton, Oprah Winfrey and the much revered TD Jakes. What a great forum for Dog to make ammends, learn and grow from his faux pas! But wait...what is THIS?????? Dog and his people back out at the last minute!!!!! No real valid reason given.....
I mention this to Papa Witch as I am terribly confused and Papa Witch has a smart noodle! He brings up a good point - why is it so easy and Dog is so willing to make ammends to the African American Community to people like LARRY KING (Caucasian) NAITY AND COLMES (CAUSASIAN)...but not three AFRICAN AMERICANS????? Hmmmmmmm - makes you think????
So, at this time, I do agree with A&E for removing Dog's television show until he has made TRUE ammends to the RIGHT people and the American population as a whole can decide how or even if we will choose to support this dog....a dog we took into our homes, loved, fed, cared for and then had him bite us in the ass!
Blessings to YOU, Dog....may you find your way....

BLESSED BE WHEN NEW LIFE ENTERS THE WORLD!
I would just like to take a moment to offer lifelong Blessings to 2 Samhain babies born to friends of mine.....
The first is Mark Bouchard Jr. to my friend Melody and her husband Mark in CT - they also have 3 girls who will be great big sisters!
The second is to Brodie Taylor Flick to my friend Jenn and her boyfriend Chad - their FIRST!
MANY Blessings for life to these little ones and their families :)
The Witch Family In Court.....
So...It's all over now! Yesterday was probably the longest day I have had in awhile. We left here by about 10am to get Wee Witch to IVIG, got her admitted and all set up by about 10:30, ate lunch and then headed over to court. We definitely knew we were stangers in a different land (or at least the judges parking area) when we found Yukon, after Lexus, after BMW......yes, our dear little Hyundai and it's Witchy passengers were cast to the upper levels no where NEAR the elevators or humanity! I never knew that your status closest to the elevator represented you importance in the incarnation - the "reserved for" spots were BEFORE the handicapped!!! SO by the time we trekked the great tundra and met up with our lawyer, it was about noon so we had a chance to over our paperwork and then we just had to wait for our turn w/the trustee (to give you a hit, the man was a roly poly as...well...us!...instead of a breif case carried a canvas Save A Lot bag, and wore pants that looked that they were purchased at the long defunct Hens and Kellys - my fears were instantly dissapated :) So we waited until our turn ( about 12:45) and then we went up to to the table, reaffirmed what we had already told our lawyer, showed our photo ideas and DONE!!!! So we said good bye to our lawyer, Mama Witch stopped of at her favorite haunt for a celebratory piece of jewlery (only $20!) and then we returned to a sleeping Wee Witch at Children's and that was that! Afterwards we stopped by my inlaws for dinner and a visit and then went to Ashley's School Book Fair (she got a Hannah Montana book and a spy kit...) and they had a craft and refrement table so we finally GOT HOME AT 8:30PM. Ugh! Coffee time. Just as an aside, please keep my sister in law in your prayers as she will be having her gallbladder removed on 11/30 and we are still awaiting the results of the abnormalitites in my brother in law's blood work from his recent illness - when it rains it pours! Gotta go make some coffee...

"These are a few of my (least) favorite things....." (hum the tune as you read)
Gas prices soaring and husbands a'snoring
Reality shows that are painfully boring
Children who whine and don't help me clean...
These are a few of my least favorite things....
Too many bills and not enough cash
A million stops to make in a dash
Intolerance and greed all by people in "bling"
These are a few of my least favorite things....
When the Moons out, when I'm shopping
When I'm feeling glad....
I sadly remember my least favorite things and then I feeeeeel
so saaaaaaad :(
Nothing too exciting going on so I thought I'd write a song - TeeHee

Merry CORPORATE XMAS!
I did it, ladies and gents - I braved one of America's largest chain stores and hated every miserable second of it! In my desperate search for a coffee carafe I braved (oh Goddess, I need to puke...) Target! It was miserable! They were playing Christmas music (have we forgotten about that little holiday called Thanksgiving?) and everything was CHRISTMAS! The horror! I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone and couldn't get out - I cried out in pain and no one from the "anti-corporation society" came to save me - oops, must have forgetten to pay the bill. And they didn't even have the blasted thing! All that for nothing!
Now, let me clarify some things. I was raised in a Catholic home (PLEASE don't hold that against me, I've grown, I've changed, I repent...) where Christmas time was filled with cookies and tinsel and trees and decorations and "merry music" and the smells and sounds of...MONEY BEING SPENT AT A G-force YET UNMEASURED! OK, so I do have some happy memories but that is not the point here. The point is is that Christmas =Spending in our money hungry socity! It's about knocking over the dear old Crone next to you to get the LAST must-have doll off the shelf, it's about your house looking more absurd than any other on the block (if I see another damn PVC tree....), it's about obnoxious card with meaningless thought and sentiment being sent just BECAUSE.....Sorry, the Witch family is not having it!
We, as Wiccans celebrate Yule, where the focus is on the rebirth of Father, being with loved ones, food o' plenty and happiness. Sure, the Wee Witch will be getting a few gifts (more because I just love her so much than because I HAVE to have her get THE toy of the year...) but that will be a small part of the celebration of life, of family, of Earth, and of giving to others that we will celebrate!
So if you insist on running up those debts and and going to corporate crap stores, buy some food for a homeless shelter, buy some socks, jackets, mittens and a teddy bears for a homeless child, buy some dog or cat food for your local SPCA, visit your local Ronald McDonald House with a bag full of donations for those undergoing personal misfortune during a time when everyone else is so obliviously foolish - I mean, happy. Do for others and STOP BUYING PVC TREES AND REINDEER!!!!!!!
Looking for.....
The Witches 3 are looking for the following items: an ice chipper and a coffee carafe that goes under the coffe pot. Any ideas???? And please don't make me go to Wal-Mart, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Mama Witch is NOT a Stepford Wife!
Soooooo - I am just begining to think that the idea of organization and tidiness and are just an illusion after all. A picture an a copy of Women's Day from 1950. And, you know, fuck it, Mama Witch is ok with that....
Now, make no mistake - there is a DISTINCT difference between dirty and messy and dirty is unacceptable and lazy but, messy? Well, that's called living. I used to be neatnik extrodinaiare - in fact, the running joke was that people were known to slip on my floors with SNEAKERS on because they were so shiny and every paper had a place and dust was just simply exstinct in the Witch home! Sure, it was a 8 - 10 hour cleaning sprint daily, sure it was good excersize but it sucked! I missed out on so much.....Wanna get up and go to the flea market? Nope the cupboards aren't dusted. Wanna go to Mom's house for a visit? No way - without vacuuming OUR house? What a waste. I am so sick and tired of little girls being "bred" to be sweet mommies and culinary geniouses and make the house quaint while boys are bred to fight, be aggresive, climb to the top, express themselves and stir the nest! Time for us to stir the nest, Ladies!
For all you girls and out there, burn your cookbooks that Mother gave you as a wedding gift, put the spoons in the slot where the forks should go (it'll irritate someone -teehee), take your magazines and stack 'em in the living room, let your Wee one's enjoy THEIR ROOM, not turn it into a tomb where cool toys go to die (not without several good dustings, of course)....Then....go stock up on some TV dinners and Kraft Mac n Cheese, buy paper plates and utensils, plop on the couch with the clicker and pick up this month's issue of Bitch magazine (which has some fascinating articles this month as does Sage Women's issue currently on stands:Mother w/Goddess Rhiannon), grab a Mike's Hard Lemonade and chill.....You deserve it, girl!

My "baby sister" is 12!!!!!!
Today, my "baby" sister is 12 years old! I can barely believe it....I remember the first time I saw her...She was born in 1995 and I saw her first time in March 1996 when I was a freshmen in highschool and visitng over Spring Vacation. I got off the plane to see the cutest little baby in a blue denim dress, a blue bow to match and the biggest, sweetest smile I had ever seen in my life. I had never been a sibling let alone had much experience with babies but I LOVED holding her, touching her tiny little hands, watching her explore with her eyes - she was so fascinataing to me! And, I FINALLY had a sibling! I guess that is why even though we unfortunately live hours apart (I in Bflo. and she in Va) I will always have a special place in my heart for the "little girl" who made me a big sister - a badge I wore proudly then and wear even prouder now! Happy 12th birthday to my sister - much happiness to you and MANY Blessings.....

Missing:One Wee Witch!
So today was Papa Witch's day off PLUS pay day so naturally we had a zillion stops to make! So we had a plan - start the day out early and get as much done as we can before Wee Witch's bus comes at 3:30....Stop one was a quickie, to the mall to pick up some shirts I had been oogling that were on clearence (some amazing Goddess print shirts...love 'em) then it was over to Dollar Tree to pick up some odds n ends. Then, it was over to the inlaws to check up on MIL (who had a rough night unfortunately) and drop off my FIL's 50th bday gift - I'll tell you'd never know he was 50! Well....we had such an enjoyable visit as always (and always so much fun w/their 3 yr old Shih Tzu, Gizmo) that we kinda ran a little late and FORGOT TO GET WEE WITCH OFF THE BUS!!!!! She had to go the whole bus route and then was taken back to school while the school staff contacted everyone listed on our emergency card - panicking them half to death - my poor mom was the most shaken! So, we get to the school, she was fine, we smoothed things over w/the fam. and now we can all laugh about it...right???? OK, I fucked up! Never again! I hate not knowing where Wee Witch is! So then it was off to Supercuts (I have a spikey 'do - AHHHH - I love it), a few other stops, groceries and home. We did homework w/the Wee Witch and I am off to dye my hair as Papa puts the little one to bed. What a day....Tonight I will be saying extra prayers for my MIL who still has a queasy tummy - she is one heck of a lady I'll tell ya and my BIL who has the worst throat infection I have ever seen - and I had 7 strep throats in one year! Good night.....
BTW - Make sure to get your Wee Witches Samhain costume for next year NOW - I got Ashley's for $2.75 at Walgreens - YAY!
The downside of sugar rushes.......
In the days of old, Wiccans would gather in their clandestine Covens in the valley of a beautiful mountain or a gentle clearing in a nearby wooded area in Europe to worship Samhain. They would don their capes and chant to the dseparted souls until they could feel the embrace and love of that Soul sweep through their body, they would mourn those souls recently lost and the resting of Father until he awakens at Yule. They would marvel at the moon, make up their offering to the deceased and uphold a beautiful, sacred, centuries old tradition in honor of the Earth based Gods. They would also remember that this WAS Wiccan New Year, the second highest Sabbat next to Beltane in May. Picture a beautiful dark sky, moons shining, the delicate lull of the Coven chant, the music comming from a lovely hand carved flute, all basking in the glow of Mother moon....(in her Crone phase, of course)...
Now, "Halloween" as we know it - Wee Witch and I were invited to a pizza party at a neighbor's apartment which was fun! Afterwards, the kids went trick or treating for almost 2 hours!! Wee Witch was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz - AGAIN! The $10 I spent on that costume in 2005 has been well worth it....They made out with quite a haul - which Mama and Papa Witch thoroughly enjoyed later that evening - TeeHee! After the trick or treating we went back to the party for brownies and coffee so the girls could play and dance and sort their candy....we didn't get home until after 9pm and PASSED OUT on the couch! Ashley was so excited to get so many Kit Kat bars for Papa Witch - it was cute! After the sugar rush of yesterday I had 2 VERY tired girls this morning to get ready for school - that was as fun as a tooth extraction which Wee Witch will probably need after the 10lbs. of sugar she ate!
I held a small Samhain rite and really hope to make my Ancestors proud in our New Year and change some old habits....I was sure to remember the famous, the victims of some of this year's tragedies (like the VA Tech. shooting) and those near and dear who now live Blissfully and at Peace in the Summerland. Hopefully next year, I will have completed my training and will be holding my rite as a Priestess! I start Nov. 9th!
Gotta run for now - waiting to hear from my 2 girls, Melody and Jenn who had Halloween babies.....
Merry Fall....
