HUG your children..the mess will be there tommorow!

I was informed earlier this afternoon that a woman in one of my listservs lost her 6 year old niece after a VERY long battle with cancer among other illnesses. She passed away around 3:45pm EST. Her name was Lilia and I ask that all of my fellow Wiccans remember her tommorow during your Samhain rite and and for everyone else offer up a Blessing to her dearly Departed Soul....may she be reborn into a life of less struggle and pain. Please, right now, whatever you are doing, STOP and hug your kid(s)...who cares if they are making peanut butter and jelly pictues on the TV again or pulling out EVERY Barbie doll in the house, or if you have just had a huge argument. These little (or big) Souls belong to the Lord and Lady, they are ours to love, to nurture, to grow and to hold for just a little while - they are NOT extensions of us, we do not own their Chart, they are their own little Souls come to learn and grow just as you have! So hug them, don't sweat the little things (laugh about them!) and cherish every moment that they are a part of your incarnation.... May you be Held in the Loving White Light of the Lord and Lady, Lilia...

Halloween and Samhain

You know....The cycle of life, death and re-birth is one of those topics that few people like to think about let alone discuss. During this "Halloween" season, we glorify and delight in witches and ghosts and costumes but few (with the exception of Wiccans/Pagans or true Theologians) understand the meaning of all of this hoopla. And that is the cycle I just mentioned... Halloween, All Hallows Eve, Samhain, Dia De Las Muertas are all synonymous with generally the same things but for VERY different reasons. Halloween is what I refer to as a "Corporate" holiday - another trumped up event to sell truckloads of candy, costumes, facepaint, cards, decorations and other "notions". The latter 3 names I mentioned refer to a centuries, milleniums-old tradition of honoring those spirits who have Crossed - a day when the veil between our world and the next is thinned so that the Spirits of those we have lost may walk amongst us and communicate with us. It is traditional to set up an altar (be at a "true Altar" where your routine Magick is practiced or a card table that you have stored in the shed for non Wiccans or practicioners of Erath based religions...) with pictures and small mementos of the Crossed in an effort to entice them to come to you and communicate. It is very powerful and very beautiful! But...leave it to "Corporate America" and Fascist - I mean Christians and other Mainstream religions (non fascist) - to take the beauty of a Soul communticating with a loved one and turn it into a $30 ghost costume. Take the beautiful image of the Goddess, the Mother, Gaia, and her Believers and turn us into ugly old hags.....and you have your idealistic corporate crap! I wonder if anyone purchasing or wearing a costume understands WHY they do...for those who do not, it is to "disguise" yourself from "death" comming to take your soul or those "old, ugly hags" comming to get you and hex you........Well, at least you know know. So, I cannot in good consious say Happy Halloween....but I will wish you a Merry Samhain and may you be openminded enough to feel your Crossed loved ones who are speaking to you and are closer to you than at any other time. So mote it be......

It is what it is and it aint what it aint....

I made an observation awhile back that I hope will help to put some of you at ease. When we Charted to come into this world, we charted good things, bad things, pleasant people, negative people (you know...balance of nature, yin/yang) and even who our family is....sometimes that is a little tough to understand, huh? Why would we CHOOSE parents or sibling or other family members who would be mean or rotten to us? Why subject ourselves to negativity and hositlity from loved ones and friends? Here is why: When times are good, people are kind and understanding, and your family and loved ones accept you for who you are - it feels great BUT..... what are you learning? How is your Soul expanding? How are you fulfulling your Theme? It is through the struggles and patience that is required in dealing with a difficult loved one that we learn how far our Soul and ability to love can be stretched to include those from whom we Charted to be a part of. We get to fulfill our Themes and grow as people; we learn what we WANT to be and what WE DO NOT want to be by watching and feeling how other's behave - ecspecially those closest to us. The bottom line is, if you are struggling to "gain acceptance" or figure someone out or change someone - don't waste your time. Love and accept them as they are, by doing this, you are growing Spiritually....and saving yourself a migraine or five!

Blessings and Healing Vibes Request

I am asking all of you to please send Blessings and Healing Vibes to my mother in law, Rose Anne Golda, as she begins her chemotherapy treatment this week. She is a really wonderful lady and has done so much for so many......In this season of Samhain where we honor the departed and ask for healing for the ill from our Ancestors, prayers for her would be much appreciated!

Busy Weekend for the 3 Witches

So we had a nice but busy weekend! Saturday we took Ashley trick or treating at the mall. I can't help but get caught up in commercial Halloween - I LOVE IT..I love the concept of fantasy and "dress up" and all of it....Yes, I will do my more somber Samhain rite Wednesday with the hopes of communticating with those who have Crossed but, I feel like an appropriate balance of both is nice. After that we went over to a small family owned farm to pick Ashley's pumpkin out and to enjoy the other attractions there - the baby animals (including a one month old cow named Homer who bit a hole in Ash's costume - GENTLY, he was just a baby), the paint-a-pumpkin, free popcorn, the corn maze and MY FAVORITE - the straw "Tee Pee"!!!! It was great! Then we went to a rummage sale, got some groceries and came home. Unfortunately, I picked fashion over practicality on my shoe choice and by the end of the evening I couldn't even walk! Oh well.....Today Papa Witch and I had a bit of a disagreement (ok...to elegant, we were bitching at each other nonstop!!!) and I had a headache, etc....so he and Ahsley went to the in laws for dinner. Then we studied for Wee Witch's math test and now it's chill time - one day this house will be clean :) I hope... Busy weekend and busier week on the way.............

I guess Mama Witchy can be a bit Bitchy ;)

***You Are 47% Bitchy*** Generally, you're an average woman, with average moods. But sometimes... well, watch out!Sometimes, you let your mean side get the better of you. And you enjoy every minute of it. How Bitchy Are You?http://www.blogthings.com/howbitchyareyouquiz/ PS - Papa Witch says it is more than that - HA!

FU President Bush - Why are you hating on AMERICA'S KIDS???

WASHINGTON - House members are about to learn whether some nips and tucks to a children's health bill will be enough to secure a veto-proof margin against a White House that wants major surgery. The White House says President Bush will veto the House's revised effort, if the legislation reaches his desk. The House planned to vote Thursday afternoon on a modestly revised version of a bill that President Bush vetoed Oct. 3. Last week the House fell 13 votes short of the two-thirds majority needed to override the veto, which had been prompted by Bush's objections to a major expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program. The bill's supporters now hope the revisions will attract the seven or more Republicans needed to change the outcome later this fall. GOP leaders urged their colleagues to resist, saying the changes are too minor to justify abandoning Bush on a high-profile issue. NBC News' Mike Viqueira reports seeing a lot of anger from Republican leaders, who are anxious about the prospect of losing more of their number to the Democratic plan and a possible override down the road. The next Democratic Presidential Candidates Debate on Tuesday, Oct. 30th, will broadcast live on MSNBC from 9 p.m. – 11 p.m. ET. NBC’s Brian Williams will moderate and be joined by Tim Russert. It will be streamed live on msnbc.com. Analysis: Is Iran the top issue in this debate? As before, the bill would add would $35 billion over five years to the State Children's Health Insurance Program. The program, which now covers 6 million children, would enroll 4 million more. The increase would be paid for with a 61-cent increase in the federal excise tax on a pack of cigarettes, which Bush opposes. CompromisesUnder the revisions, the program would exclude families earning more than three times the federal poverty rate. Low-income childless adults, which some states cover, would be phased out in one year. And states would have to be more rigorous in checking the validity of applicants' Social Security numbers, an effort to exclude illegal immigrants House fails to override child health care veto Oct. 18: House Democrats fall short in their attempt to override a veto by President Bush of the children's health insurance program. MSNBC Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt says lawmakers have not justified the need for a $35 billion expansion to cover 10 million children. Democrats and their GOP allies are targeting 38 House Republicans who voted to sustain Bush's veto and later outlined their concerns in a letter. The revised bill "addresses all the concerns that were expressed by our colleagues and by the president," House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., told reporters Wednesday night. "This is a clarification of the legislation" vetoed by Bush. The 10-year-old health insurance program is designed for families that make too much money to qualify for Medicaid but not enough to buy medical coverage. The main targets are families earning no more than twice the federal poverty rate, or $41,300 for a family of four. Delay deniedPelosi rejected requests from some Republicans to postpone a vote to give GOP moderates more time to round up converts. Republicans also noted that several California lawmakers will be absent Thursday to review wildfire damage in their districts. Can I just go back to bed and start today over...TOMMOROW????

So, the day strats out MISERABLE....Mama Witch is apparetly fightingh some kind of cold or seasonal thing but in any event, it's making her quite tired and short tempered....and that's the BEST part of the day.... All morning Ashley and her friend fought over EVERYTHING as they got ready for school - who had better dolls, who was getting what for Christmas, why did one have to copy another, why was the other so "braggy?" Then came the declaration that they were no longer friends (but would probably play school this weekend). Needless to say this carried into the car and on the ride to school leaving Papa Witch a headache the size of the Grand Canyon. So we decide to lay down for half an hour and then get ready for court (bankruptcy) - making good time, we are on our way when of course, the tire goes flat! Since naturally Papa Witches cellphone is dead and Mama Witch's phone is sitting on the coffee table next to her COFFEE!!!!! Papa Witch had to walk to a mini mart to call roadside assisatnce which naturally takes an hour to arrive! By the time they get everything squared away we are an hour late - so we call and find that they have granted a continuance on our case and would be sending us a letter w/a new date soon. So we get home hoping to salvage the day over Ramen noodles and PBJ before Papa drives to work when we get a call from his mother informing us that the pathology reports from her recent lastectomy (due to breast cancer) indicate she needs to begin chemo. immediately (next Tues.) as aggresive, invasive tissue was found and she has a better than 30% chance of a reccurence in another part of her body if they don't hit it up hard now. By now we have lost our appetites and sit quietly, asking the Goddess to be with her. I ask you to do the same! Well, have to go get Wee Witch from the bus stop. I am tapped out...sorry if there are a ton of typos...

D'Souza vs. Hitchens (and other athiests)

Mama witch must INSIST that you please review the recent debate between Dinesh D'Souza and Christopher Hitchens - Religion vs. Athiests. It is a very thorough and arguably one of the most intelligent debates on Darwinian thought vs God that I have seen in a long time. Of course, as a devout Wiccan and firm believer and the loving Lord and Lady, I had to take the side of D'Souza and believe his points of view to much more inlign w/my own BUT Hitchens proved a worthy adversary..... Look, I believe in all forms of worship - anything that makes you a better Humanitarian (see my last post) BUT as an A.U. activist I do not believe religion should be forced on anyone.... Anyway, stop reading that nonsense about Britney and Lindsey (who gives a damn????) and check out this debate - it'll give some food for thought!

My thoughts on Sylvia Browne

I love Sylvia Bronwe! I have almost ALL of her books, her DVD, many of her CD's, a piece from her jewlery line, an actual card written by her, a subscription to her newsletter and on and on. I enjoy listening to her on Hay House radio on Thursdays, I enjoy her Montel appearences, I even had tickets to see her live (and got the worst sinus infection of my life the day before and missed it - GRRRR) - I am a fan! I am also a skeptic....I am a TRUE Taurus (stubborn 'ol bull) and have been a scholar in many lives. I crave truth. I am also very intuitive and well read on many religions. I don't need to to "touch and hold it" to believe it BUT...it needs to "feel" right, it has to seem logical, it has to Sing to my Soul. So...here is my take. I think Sylvia is an AMAZING teacher, a gifted speaker,a healer and councelor, she presents interesting topics, she brings light and truth to long buried facts but a "seer" - I just don't know..... For example, I watched her on Montel the other day (she certainly has a prescence and I love her clothing choices, usually) and decided to be as open minded as I could be - give extreme benefit of the doubt even. The first question was from a woman asking when she would find her man - she was told in 6 months, generic but possible...she was then shown an orb picture - could it have been Angels - yes, it was! (...could it have been dust - yes! says I) The bottom line is with her it is ALWAYS a visitor from the other side with a name, a story, a history, etc.... According to her ALL good things are going to happen to everyone! If only....I have NEVER heard her tell a woman "no, I'm sorry, you just are not meant to have children this go-round" or say to someone "no, I'm sorry, you have Charted a solitary path, you will just have many GREAT friends". There is a happy answer for all - so is this fortune telling or fortune cookies???? I just don't know......my spirit guide won't tell me! I believe in a "religion" called Humanity. I believe in a "religion" of acceptance of any and all beliefs, of kindness, of serenity BUT also, of accepting consequences (or karmic justice), of seeking your own ways of thinking, of the care and love of all living things and Their innate Spirits, in doing good things just to do good things without any personal gain. I don't care if you you use an ornate statue (or MANY as I have) of a specific religious figure or a piece of bark to represent your religion - in Humanity it's all up to you. In Humanity, you can read the Kabbalah, books on Pantheism, on Wicca and blend them all to help you Grow and Love on a Spiritual level.....You could call it Kabpanicca! The essence of this post.....trust YOUR soul, walk your YOUR spritual path, Grow, Love, Accept, in your own fashion at not the way "the book" or "the preacher" says it is to be. With Love, in the name of Humanity BLESSED BE

School Pizza vs. Wee Witche's Belly

Docket#00000000 Plaintiff: Wee Witch Sullivan's adorable little tummy Defendant: Blasdell Elementary Pizza My poor little wee witch! As old as time, kids have looked for to 2 things about school more than anything else: putting boogers on their classmates chair and pizza day at the cafeteria. For our little Witch, one tradition must come to an end :( For the third time this school year, Wee Witch is home with an upset stomach from a lunch of school pizza. I don't get it - This is a child who would live on chocolate milk and ice cream sundaes, a child who can rummage through thrift store baskets that predate the birth of Mama and Papa Witch, eat coins (lest we forget her recent surgery...) and be a-ok.... give the child one slice of school pizza and we are done for! Go figure. So, I guess it's a day of rice, cheerios, and Gatorade here in the Sullivan home. Poor kid!

All is well with Wee Witch :)

Today, Jim took Ashley to her IVIG infusion and her follow up surgical appointment at the hospital and all went just fine...both are resting now! I stayed home to get things here in order....That's what always ends up happening, the place looks like a show piece for Pagan Better Homes and Gardens (Hee Hee), we all vow to keep it this way, we do a Sage cleansing, all feels and looks balanced and wonderful and then within a week....RANSACKED! I don't know how or when it happens, I think the Faeries are up to their tricks again! But anyway, I am making headway and eating Ramen noodles then it's back to the grindstone. By the way, in the Samhain addition of the Elsie and Pooka Pagan Children's magazine, they have some fantastic, easy Kitchen Witch recipes for all of the Sabbats! The Yule fudge sounds easy and yummy...I think we will try it when the time comes. I highly recommend visiting www.elsieandpooka.com for great Pagan themed stories, activities, information and all for kids and families. Wee Witch loves the stories - I wish they made a Pooka stuffed animal!

Dumbledore is GAY and other things for Christians to Bitch About!

(the movie-annoucer guy's voice begins here...) First, it was Tinky - Winky, then Burt and Ernie, and now......it's Dumbledore! Yes, he now joins the elite association of "gay lifestyle icons geared towards promoting a perverse lifestyle to your impressionable children"...(movie-announcer guy's voice ends now, thanks movie guy! Your check's in the mail...) Mama and Papa Witch are so sick and damned tired of these high and mighty, Bible thumping, Bible mis-quoting, Bible distorting, stick shoved so far up their ass that they have no choice but to kneel JERK OFFS taking childhood fun and fantasy and imagination and making it political! Do these people really believe that Jesus, whom was a very well versed, intelligent, kind scholar himself, would have cared more that 1 - children were reading and liking it and having FUN with it or that 2- what they were reading and enjoying had words like "magic" and "potions" in it ????? AND...who says that any of this HAS TO BE "witchcraft"? Didn't you have a magic set toy as a child? Didn't your magic set come with a WAND, and POTIONS, and MAGICAL WORDS??? Did that make YOU a practicing witch? And...shouldn't we save politicking for issues like...oh, let me think...the war in Iraq, the healthcare crisis in America, etc...Yeah, I think so. Witchcraft, or as it is called who are those more intelligent - Wicca - is a beautiful, Earth based religion predating Jesus Christ which celebrates the cycles and ebb-and-flow of nature. There is a respect for the almighty powers that Mother creates - their is no EVIL forces or EVIL demons conjured up to go forth with the intent purpose of death and destruction (if you'd like to see a great movie about little "demons" created for death and destruction, I reccomend renting Lilo and Stitch) - that is nothing but nonsense drummed by the Roman Emporer Constantine in an effort to irradicate the female essence and any Pagan refference from ROMAN Catholicism (THE religion) in the 12th century. But enough about that, pick up a Scott Cunnigham book and you can learn all of the simple basics of Wicca. Or Sylvia Browne's The Mystical Life of Jesus Christ.... What disturbs me more is the hatred geared towards the homosexual lifestyle and CERTAINLY when it is correlated to "witches" and pedophilia - one of the most PERVERSE crimes in existence. I watched a "Christian" speaker yesterday admantly condemn Harry Potter, anything promoting homosexuality and such other pervesions as pedophilia....WHAT?!?!?!?!? Where is the link? Let me save you some time - THERE IS NONE!!!! As the sister in law to someone living a homosexual lifestyle, as a dear friend to several people living a homosexual fifestyle let me be the first to tell you - there is no distinction between their lifestyle and mine other than the fact they chose same gender sexual partners and I do not - and that is no one's business anyway! So how dare these "high moral" people imply that there is anything perverse, unusual or disgusting about a lifestyle different than their own. Maybe if they go and crap that stick out of their ass they'll feel better and be kinder *sigh* one can hope any way. As for me, I will still allow Wee Witch to watch her Harry Potter movies, read the books when she can, buy the coloring books,, posters and figurines to play with.....Tinky Winky happened to be her favorite Teletubby and she still has her Bert doll from she was a baby and I have no intention of changing anything. I am going to call one of my gay friends and tell him I love him and I am going to hug my brother in law extra tight next time I see him so....biased Christians and haters alike...put that in your Bible toting pipe and smoke it! Invest your energies and efforts into catching the REAL deamons...pedophiles, rapists, murderers and those who spread the Word of HATE! Peace Out!

Where does the weekend go?

I said to myself on Friday..."self, I am going to have this place spotless by Sunday night". It's Sunday night - it is 8:24pm - and not much has been done...oh well. There is this week, right? Quiet weekend - nothing too exciting. Jim's stepsister Beth got married on 10/20 so Jim went as a representative of all of us as he had to work at 3 and the wedding started at 1pm. Besides, I am not exactly comfortbale in a Church....Apparently it was very formal and very nice. Ashley and I had a bum around day. Today, Ashley and Alex played for awhile while I did some cleaning, worked on this, etc...I am so glad Jim has off of work tommorow so I can really get moving on my pet projects around here! I am so jealous of the"Mrs. June Cleavers"of the world....I am more like "Roseanne"! So...it is homework time for Wee Witch and some more house work for The Mama. Blessings to all of you!

Life's Path has Unexpected Twists and Turns

For almost 2 wonderful years, I moderated a Yahoo group for overweight women who are trying to conceive children after having had one or more... I thoroughly enjoyed this "job"!!!! I felt as though we had a true Sisterhood - a group of women from different faiths, backgrounds, etc...all coming together to offer love, support, comfort, laughs, WHATEVER was needed. I met some truly amazing Souls that I will forever cherish as Sisters. Unfortunately, one of the Sister's decided to shake things up a bit and I felt like I no longer had a place in the "new" group (although still the same title, etc...) - at first I was so angry and felt very betrayed. I felt that this person had an agenda; to make the group into what SHE thought it should be despite how others felt. So, I left the group.....I pulled a Rosie O'Donnell :) Sure, I gave a nice parting BUT there was much more I wanted to say alas, I held my tongue. Remember, the energy we put into this world is what we attract...I don't know about you but I don't want any negativity following me around like a lost puppy. Some time has gone by and while I do still miss my Sisters and dear friends terribly!!!! I see now that our Paths have these twists and turns for a reason. I have had a lot of mini projects that have never been completed because I was so busy with "group work", and of course with studies as a Coven-initiate begining soon (and being the best Mom and Wife I can be!!!) I see that this is where I am supposed to be now! Getting other things done.... However, I will cherish and LOVE my dear Sisters for life....and always keep them close to my heart. As Garth Brooks said - ".....I would have missed the pain but I'd have had to miss the dance"......and I had one heck of a Dance! BLESSINGS!

Mama Witch

Ok, here is me! Notice the Penticle on our door and my A.U. poster....Mama Witch is also the home interior decorator. I plan to post many more pics. but, I wanted to at least give you a visiual of Us Witches 3!

Papa Witch and Wee Witch

The beach is where I feel closest to the Mother and Father...think about it - you have all of the elements right there! The beautiful sand (Earth), the wonderful sea (Air), the lake (Water - obviuously), and if you go on a calm day when you can light a candle (Fire) it is the most wonderful place to meditate and to commune with the Gifts of Gaia. This picture is a bit old (unfortunately, we didn't get to go to the beach often this year) but...at least you have met Papa witch in a surrounding that is so pleasing! As always the Wee Witch came home with a bucket of shells and rocks.....we picked a few to put in a small jar on her dreser!
